As per the reports, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is expected to organise the anticipated Global IndiaAI 2023, the dates of which will ne announced soon. Several poignant AI players, start-ups, researchers, and investors in India and worldwide will participate in the conference.
The conference will cover a wide array of topics such as next-generation learning and foundation AI models, the tremendous applications of AI in sectors like governance, healthcare and next-generation electric vehicles, future AI research trends, AI computing systems, investment opportunities and nurturing AI talents.
Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT, chairs the conference’s steering committee, which will shape the contours of the Global IndiaAI 2023. The committee include members from the Digital Economy Advisory of MeitY and many other significant leaders from the industry.
While talking about the conference, MoS Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar stressed the vision of the Government to gather the world’s best and liveliest minds under one roof to discuss and brainstorm about the future of AI and its influence in the various sectors.
“The Global IndiaAI 2023 conference is tentatively planned for this year and the dates will be announced soon. The conference will bring together the best and brightest in AI from India and around the world. This summit is expected to evolve and become a must-attend event on the annual calendar of the Global AI industry, start-ups, practitioners, researchers and students. The huge success of the past two editions of the SemiconIndia conference by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji firmly put India on the global semicon map. This enabled India to catalyse investments and growth within the sector. The Global IndiaAI summit will also catalyse India’s AI landscape and innovation ecosystem,” the Minister said.
The conference will act as a showcase of the vivacious India AI ecosystem that encompasses key initiatives like the Bhashini, the IndiaAI future design program for start-ups, the India Datasets Program, and the IndiaAI future skills program that are devoted to nurturing the top-notch AI talent.
MoS, while emphasising the inclusive groundwork for India AI, mentioned the pivotal role of the working groups that have partnered with the industry, start-ups and academic partners. He said such groups have presented a holistic framework for the India AI initiative that revolves around poignant pillars such as AI in Governance, AI Computing and systems, AI IP and innovation, Data for AI and Skilling in AI. He also commented that these pillars will be crucial to the upcoming conference’s agenda.
“What makes India so attractive for AI is the diversity of it. Our diversity will add to the quality of data sets for any large language model or any AI learning model. What we want is for AI to be responsible so that user harm is curbed and innovation is encouraged. Our primary aim is to ensure a collaborative and participatory approach, steering AI to enhance governance and transforming lives while building global partnerships and actively shaping the world’s technology landscape,” the Minister added.
