Seeking what you want to be is one of the central goals of life. Some take a lifetime to find their passion. Lucky few gains realization at a younger age. Such is the story of 12-year-old Sajini Varadharajan.  

Sajini Varadharajan is a student in Grade 8 at Gems United Indian School, Abu Dhabi. A budding author and poet, Sajini Varadharajan has authored 16 books. She is a proud student of Clevered, an organization that offers tailored coding AI programs for kids and teens. She is one of the youngest children to complete the Artificial Intelligence Internship Program under the Senior Researcher of Oxford University, Mr. Ken Kahn. 

"With AI, we can process and analyze vast amounts of data quickly, making it easier to find and access the information we need. To gain practical knowledge about this technology, I developed a keen interest in AI", said Sajini in a conversation with INDIAai. 

Journey with AI 

Sajini started learning about AI when she was five years old. Two years ago, she joined Clevered and stepped into the milestone of the Junior Data Scientist Course. She is currently at AI Expert Level 1, learning computer vision techniques and neural networks.   

Sajini has authored 16 books. Her 5th and 16th book, Kelly Lunature Thrillers – Face in the Mirror and Kelly Lunature Thrillers 2.0 – A Looming Shadow consecutively, delves into the world of AI. While the former talks about a girl's friend who goes missing, and a robot is used to finding the friend, the latter takes the reader to the chaotic city of Yellowsberry, where an unidentified object is found flying over the city. Amidst this crisis, a robot comes to the rescue!  

"I find inspiration for my stories from Bollywood movies", says Sajini. Her published works are now available on Amazon. 

Sajini is the recipient of numerous honors, including 'Consistent Performer' of Code Combat conducted on 17th June 2023 – Clevered India; Creative Coder from Google; Application of the month – The Calculator – Hello Learner, India and many more.  

Growing with AI 

Sajini wishes to collaborate AI and environment to synthesize the ecological balance. "I want to develop an AI tool that promotes sustainable development", stated Sajini.  

Sajini is already working towards attaining her goal. During her three months internship program, she coded and programmed a Automated Restaurant, Nutrihome, which includes Sentiment Analysis App, Tkinter Online Ordering System, Speech Emotion Detection App and Conversational Talking Chatbot.   

According to Sajini, the automated restaurant takes a survey from the user, makes the user order online and takes feedback either by speech or chat. This restaurant serves healthy and delectable food since it's the need of the hour.   

Sajini is also working on 'Astounding Agridon' – A combination of a Plant Disease Prediction App and a Crop and Fertilizer Prediction App. Agridon is a farmer's friend in agriculture to detect plant disease and increase crop yield. 

AI education 

"AI education is highly significant in India today", stated Sajini. With AI education, India can train people with the necessary skills to use AI technology and contribute to innovation and economic growth.  

Moving forward, Sajini wants to pursue an animation course. Alongside this, she wants to learn about hacking and ensuring cyber security. Sajini is confident that AI will be a part of her future.
