In their daily personal lives, business employees are using a lot of AI/ML tech that improve convenience and experience such as social media apps and chatbots. However, when it comes to office applications at work, the technology is several generations behind.

“An idea to create products that will improve employee experience at workplaces triggered the conceptualisation of Zvolv,” said Hardik Gandhi, Founder-CEO, Zvolv.

The company founded in 2016 is based out of Pune in India and California in the US. The no-code intelligent process automation platform helps enterprises across retail/CPG, BFSI, engineering and construction industries build workflows and deliver end to end automation of their processes at speed.

Word-of-mouth

With Future Group, Dominos and Titan as the first three customers, Zvolv today have 35 enterprise customers, of which, over a dozen of them are large billion-dollar enterprises, including Aditya Birla Group, Tata Group, Future Group, unicorn start-ups like Swiggy, Lenskart, and several others.

“In 2018, the Proof of Concept of our first enterprise product was ready. If you demonstrate value in your product, it eventually leads to good word-of-mouth. It is networking and word of mouth that drove our business initially. Our first customer, Future Group, happened through a banker friend, the other two big customers Dominos and Titan came through a public event and participation in the Wadhwani accelerator respectively,” said Hardik.

With this no-code automation platform, the time to build and evolve applications will improve by an order of magnitude. Moreover, the platform deploys state-of-the-art technology to foster innovation at workplaces and provide services to its customer base:

  • The platform provides integration of all key technology components across BPM, RPA, AI/ML and advanced analytics, allowing for many new applications in the future.
  • Applications use state-of-the-art technology and UI/UX, with the capability to leverage intelligence in terms of AI or ML to further the employee experience.
  • With a reduced dependence on developers, applications are easier to evolve and keep pace with rapidly transforming processes.
  • With private cloud deployment options, organisations are in full control of data residency, security, scalability and interoperability.

Solutions in its bucket

Zvolv enables automating four different types of business processes:

  • Automating business workflows across functions like Finance, HR, Operations and Support that involve data collection via digital forms, approvals based on delegation of authority, simple task and case tracking and more.
  • Plugging in gaps in ERP tools that are very expensive or time-consuming to implement within the ERP system. For example, exposing selective PO/Invoice/shipment data from ERP systems to outsiders via customer/vendor portals with self-service capabilities.
  • Process orchestration and work management for inter-disciplinary processes that span across many different teams across the organization – like new product development, new store launch, or new marketing campaigns or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Intelligent applications that can leverage the vast amounts of different types of data collected by organisations in different tools, and derive trends, predictions and highlight deviations, without requiring expensive data scientists crunching data day in and day out.

Additionally, Zvolv applications can be built in days due to the no-code nature of the platform. The platform combines business process automation features that allow tracking and managing human activities, along with intelligent automation bots that can replace repetitive or error-prone data-centric activities from humans to software bots. This unique combination of BPM and RPA features allows building end-end integrated applications that solve the last mile digital transformation challenges in enterprises.

So, what’s ahead

“We aspire to become an Indian start-up that has become a global success story”

Zvolv’s India operations are now self-sustainable. The next plan for the company is to expand to other geographies such as APAC and the Middle East and generate a few million dollars from these geographies. The company may also be raising a Series A from US-based investors towards the end of this year, which will be utilised to make an entry into the US market. The aim is to compete with global giants on their turf.

Recently Salesforce veteran Sri Srinivasan joined as Board advisor and then took an executive role as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Zvolv. With Srinivasan’s joining, the team is hopeful it will help them tremendously in their expansion activities. “In the next three years, we want to be at a $50 million revenue run rate. And in five years we want to be a $1 billion revenue company,” said Hardik while explaining the future plans.
