About the Initiative

India’s scale presents challenges that are uniquely its own — in agriculture, healthcare, education, governance, and beyond. Artificial Intelligence holds the potential to address these challenges and position India as a global technology leader. The BuildAI Pitch Event is a step in that direction.

Through this initiative, IndiaAI Mission and ITEL Foundation will identify deep-tech AI startups building solutions for India’s real-world problems and provide them with the resources, mentorship, and funding support needed to grow.

Who Can Apply?

The BuildAI Pitch Event is open to:

• Founders of deep-tech AI startups registered within the last 2 years, or currently in the process of registering.

What Can You Win?

Shortlisted startups will have the opportunity to pitch. The Final Pitch Round will happen in Chennai.

The top 5 startups at the Pitch Event will receive cash prizes:

Prizes:

• 1st Prize: ₹2,00,000
• 2nd & 3rd Prize: ₹1,00,000 per startup
• 4th & 5th Prize: ₹50,000 per startup

The winner, along with a select number of other high-potential startups, will be eligible to apply for incubation at ITEL Foundation.*

*Incubation will be based on the decision of the ITEL Incubation Committee and expert panel. Subject to terms and conditions.

About the Incubation Programme

The incubation programme, administered by ITEL Foundation, will offer a comprehensive and structured nurturing process, including:

• Multi-dimensional training programs
• Dedicated mentoring support
• Strategic support for scaling up
• Facilitation of access to angel investors and venture capital funds
• Continuous monitoring and performance guidance 

Incubated startups will also be eligible to apply for a grant of up to ₹20,00,000.

Process

• Apply through ITEL’s Interactive Screening Application.
• Shortlisted startups will be invited to the Pitch Event in Chennai, in April 2026.*
• Selected startups will make a 15-minute presentation to an esteemed panel.
• Top 5 Winners will be announced on the same day.
