Living in the age of Artificial Intelligence has already made us familiar with a number of AI-powered chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google Bard and many more. They have been easing the work and increasing productivity in various ways. The OpenAI launched its ground-breaking chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022. Its popularity soared with its ability to offer human-like responses and assistance with many tasks. Superior context window

As per reports, the latest upgrade of Claude has around 1,00,000 tokens or about 75,000 words. This helps in a way that we can use an entire novel as a prompt. On the other hand, ChatGPT avails only 8,192 tokens, which is almost 4,000 words. The difference in context size makes ChatGPT a little below Claude 2. Anthropic’s chatbot, Claude, is better equipped than ChatGPT when it comes to processing a whole document.

Contextual responses

As per the users’ experience, Claude 2 seems much faster and more efficient than ChatGPT regarding idea generation, assistance in writing, editing, copywriting and summarization. Moreover, it can write poems and speeches and summarise documents. As it is trained on humongous data sets from the internet, it offers users a chance to engage in a fluid conversation. Claude 2 is attracting more users with its exceptional context handling.

The updated Claude 2

Compared to ChatGPT, which provides information till 2021, the training data of Claude 2 includes updates and data from 2022 and even early 2023! Hence, ChatGPT drags behind regarding the latest knowledge, and it fails to offer users up-to-date information. 

The users with access to ChatGPT Plus can get the latest information but with a monthly subscription fee of $20 (1999 rupees).

Reading multiple files at the same time

One of the significant benefits of using Claude 2 will be its ability to read multiple files simultaneously. If you upload multiple documents simultaneously and ask Claude 2 for a comparison, the chatbot will give you a response in the blink of an eye. In ChatGPT Plus, this is possible only if you have a Code Interpreter plugin. However, users have mixed feelings about this. Some users reported that this feature is not as effective as ChatGPT’s Code Interpreter Plugin as it does all that one needs, including tasks such as generating summaries. If you are not into poring over several files in your daily routine, ChatGPT suits you, as Claude 2 does the job with ease.

Swiftness in the processing time

According to user experiences, Claude 2 seemed faster in delivering responses when compared to ChatGPT. After Anthropic rolled out Claude 2, they claimed that the new version provided swifter performance with an average response time- five seconds.  

Along with these benefits come some limitations as well. Claude 2 has no access to the internet, which may lead to providing wrong information if it is given real-time data. It sometimes performs poorly in complex maths problems. The second is its availability. It is currently available only in the UK and USA, while Indian users can get on a waitlist till it gets access in India. However, when it comes to privacy, Claude 2 enables its users to delete their conversations.
