The AI Gamechangers Award was organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) as part of the Annual GPAI Summit. The startups showcased state-of-the-art progress in the development of AI that is both safe and secure.

These developments encompassed inventive applications in agriculture, healthcare, and finance, as well as solutions for issues in dairy farming, crowd-sourced data collection, and the fight against disinformation. Every presentation demonstrated a dedication to technical advancement that tackles present-day societal issues and is in line with GPAI's objective of advocating for ethical AI principles.

Genrobotic Innovations Private Limited have won the second runner up. They showcased their innovations with the G Gaiter, an advanced robotic gait rehabilitator that aims to accelerate paraplegic patients' recovery through effective rehabilitation.

Problem Statement

G Gaiter is set to transform healthcare in India, addressing the needs of millions suffering from gait disabilities such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, cerebral palsy, and other musculoskeletal issues. With 13 million gait disability patients and 20 million stroke patients in India, and a scarcity of physiotherapists (0.59 per 10,000 population), G Gaiter aims to fill the rehabilitation gap with advanced robotic solutions.

G Gaiter - The Most Advanced Robotic Gait Trainer

G Gaiter employs robotic exoskeletons controlled by computer systems, incorporating motors, pneumatics, levers, or hydraulics to restore movement. Designed for patients fit for traditional physiotherapy, G Gaiter offers a dynamic bodyweight support system, a comfortable harness with cushion pads, intelligent spasm detection, continuous monitoring, and effort tracking. It provides three therapy modes—Passive, Assistive, and Active—ensuring personalized and effective rehabilitation. Advanced VR technology and extensive data storage enable personalized treatment, consistent movements, motivation, and engagement while reducing workload. The pneumatic leg orthosis (GPLOT) ensures a smooth, vibration-free experience, with durable, maintenance-free operation.

G Gaiter has been installed in six hospitals across Kerala, impacting numerous patients with significant life-changing improvements. Over a year, it completed 2500+ sessions and facilitated 1.5 million+ robotic-assisted steps, greatly enhancing the quality of life for individuals with gait disabilities.
