“I want to know about my academic life”. I typed in the chat box that appeared in front of me.

“Based on your Kundli, the 2nd house which represents education and knowledge…” it started responding. No, I was not talking to an astrologer. Instead, I was talking to an AI tool- Kundli GPT, that functions using the GPT algorithm.

Astrology connotes an ancient discipline that involves the calculation of planet positions to forecast or make predictions of various events that occur. Astrology provokes significant interest among individuals, which helps in scientific hypotheses and their association with astrology.

The projections made in astrology are associated with elements such as zodiac signs, positions of planets and different cosmological aspects. To develop an astrological prediction, the astrologer analyses and makes a comparison to the initial horoscopes. Similar analyses and integration of an individual’s previous horoscopes could be used to make further predictions.

In addition, astrology involves simple prediction analysis and constitutes profound and massive computations associated with individuals’ lives within society, including mindset, studies, work environments, assets, liabilities, probabilities, and health paradigms. Incorporating these elements has resulted in a modern mechanism of astrological predictions that employ patterns of AI and ML.

Meet Kundli GPT

Kundli GPT is developed by NIT-Surat Alumni Raj Sutariya. Based on OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Kundli GPT is a chatbot that provides astrology advice to users based on their birthdays and location. The field of astrology also has the potential to take astrological reading and astronomy to a whole new level with the help of Kundli GPT.

According to their website, the chatbot is designed to provide users with personalized astrological reading and answers questions based on the Kundli. The users are generally curious about their careers and professional life. The chatbot can provide insights into potential opportunities and challenges based on the planetary positions in the Kundli.

The tool also provides advice on navigating potential obstacles or enhancing positive influences. It can identify negative influences or doshas and offer remedies to mitigate them.

Kundli GPT is a free tool. Now, the users do not have to spend their time and energy visiting an astrologer but can leverage this tool using their smart devices.

An experimental tool

It is important to note that Kundli GPT is an experimental tool and is currently not used for any commercial purpose. The information provided is general purpose. The developers have attempted to represent no warranties, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the website or the information, product services or related graphics contained on the website for any purpose.

For one of the prompts I personally generated, the AI recommended contacting an expert astrologer for further information.

Kundli GPT is very similar to ChatGPT. The queries are generated in the form of prompts. Users can access the technology through the Kundli GPT website.

The users can opt to interact in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and many more. The responses will be generated in the language of the query.

AI and ML in astrology

The use of AI and ML in astrology is profoundly advancing with the constant enhancement of AI and ML paradigms and approaches. Emerging practices such as Edge AI and natural language allow users to integrate their astrological data individually and obtain inferences.

Other advancements, such as Explainable AI, allow for enhanced transparency and the creation of less biased predictive models in astrology.

Some of the Explainable AI includes interpretable ML models and rule-based systems. These AI systems could illustrate the rationale for the decisions, therefore, improving transparency and understanding of the decisions made by the user.

The constant evolution of AI and ML systems, predictive models, and algorithms critically considers user experience and comprehension of the systems and their inferences. These systems allow the users to analyze data and individual behaviors to realize and predict user actions and preferences. This data could be used to optimize user experience by developing more relevant and personalized content. Other mechanisms, such as Explainable AI, further enhance user experience and understanding by providing the user with profound insight into decision-making approaches used by the AI and ML approaches and models.
