Anthropic, an AI company backed by tech giants like Google and Amazon, has announced the launch of the Claude iOS app. The new app is already listed on the Apple App Store and is free for individual users. It features features similar to those of rival AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Bing AI, and Google Gemini. 

Claude is a family of foundational AI models that can be used in various applications. Users can talk directly with Claude at claude.ai to brainstorm ideas, analyze images, and process long documents. Developers and businesses can now get API access and build directly on top of our AI infrastructure.

Meet Claude

Claude has many capabilities, such as advanced reasoning, vision analysis, code generation, and multilingual processing. It can perform complex cognitive tasks that go beyond simple pattern recognition or text generation. It can transcribe and analyze almost any static image, from handwritten notes and graphs to photographs. 

The Claude app can create HTML and CSS websites, turn images into structured JSON data, or debug complex code bases. Furthermore, it can translate between various languages in real-time, practice grammar, or create multilingual content.

The Claude 3 family of models offers the best combination of speed and performance for enterprise use cases at a lower cost than other models on the market. The models include:

• Claude 3 Haiku: This is light and fast. This is the app’s model for executing lightweight actions with industry-leading speed.
• Claude 3 Sonnet: Sonnet is the best combination of performance and speed for efficient, high-throughput tasks.
• Claude 3 Opus: Opus is the most intelligent model, capable of handling complex analysis, longer tasks with multiple steps, and higher-order math and coding tasks.

Claude has three subscription plans. The free plan allows the users to talk to Claude on the web & iOS. Users can ask about images and documents, and they will have access to Claude 3 Sonnet. The Pro plan provides the users with access to Claude 3 Opus. The users will have priority access during high-traffic periods and have early access to new features. The Pro users will have access to everything in free as well. Finally, the third plan, Team, has higher usage limits, central billing and administration and early access to collaboration features. The Team users can enjoy benefits included in Pro as well.

According to the developers, the app upholds the AI principles of security, trust, capability and reliability. It has enterprise-grade security & data handling for API. SOC II Type 2 certified, HIPAA compliance options for API and is accessible through AWS (GA) & GCP (in private preview). It is 10x more resistant to jailbreaks and misuse and Copyright indemnity protections for paid commercial services. The model has very low hallucination rates and is accurate over long documents.
