Isn’t it pretty interesting to see Microsoft’s race towards the future of AI? Now they have taken a revolutionary step by bringing the power of next-generation AI to work! Microsoft has decided to reinvent its Power Platform’s software development which includes Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with AI-powered no-code development and a new feature called Co-pilot. The tech giant has introduced Microsoft 365 Co-pilot, for which they have given a tagline “your Co-pilot for work” it is combined of the power of large language models with your data in Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 apps, enabling you to transform your words into the most powerful productivity tool.

During an event, Microsoft announced that users could soon be able to use the AI Co-pilot. “Makers now have a live in-studio Co-pilot that helps them build solutions and provides suggestions for improvement. To build an app, flow, or bot, you can describe it using natural language, and the Co-pilot can build it in seconds. It is that easy,” said Microsoft in a statement.

Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, says, “Today marks the major step in the evolution of how we interact with computing which will fundamentally change how we work and unlock a new wave of productivity growth”. “With our new Co-pilot for work, we’re giving people more agency and making technology more accessible through the most universal interface-natural language”, he added.

How will the Co-pilot help you?

The integration of Co-pilot in the Power Apps aids the users in keeping data at the centre of every application easily. It will describe your application’s purpose, and your app will automatically generate a data table. The Co-pilot will help you then leverage natural language to refine the app according to their needs. Enabling everyone to build an app is a significant benefit. The professionals can now focus more on other complex areas like code, integrations etc.

Co-pilot in Power Apps makes it easy to keep data at the centre of every application. Describe your application’s purpose, and a data table is automatically generated for your app. Using Co-pilot, makers can then leverage natural language to refine the app to suit their needs. Now, everyone can build an app, and professional developers can also save more time by focusing on more complex code, components, and integrations.

How is Co-pilot integrated into Microsoft 365?

The new feature Co-pilot is integrated into Microsoft in two ways. As it is embedded in the Microsoft 365 apps, it works as a co-pilot in your everyday work by boosting productivity and level skills and unleashing creativity. They have also introduced a new feature, “business chat,” which works across large language models, Microsoft 365 apps and your data to do things for you. It will help you even by generating status updates based on your upcoming schedules when natural language prompts are given. The Co-pilot will be entirely under the user’s control as you can decide what to keep, modify and remove, which makes your work more productive with the apps.

The Microsoft Power platform mentioned it had already empowered all the developers with AI-powered development experiences since 2021. Power Apps was one of the first products to explore GPT commercially. The express design in Power Apps allows the makers to automatically transform their drawings, images and other documents into app user interfaces (UI). This amalgamation of Artificial Intelligence with low code is expected to revolutionise how solutions are built and fundamentally transform how people create, work and collaborate.
