Telangana Govt partners with NASSCOM and Microsoft to upskill 30000 youth in AI
The Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) partnered with Microsoft and Nasscom FutureSkills to train 30,000 youth in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This endeavour was part of the March to Million initiative and expected to train 30,000 students by 2021, and impart skills in areas like AI, ML and data science to students from any academic stream.
Niti Aayog and NASSCOM launch AI module for school students
Niti Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) in collaboration with NASSCOM launched an AI-based module for school students. The AIM is a flagship initiative set up by the Niti Aayog to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the country, based on a detailed study and deliberations on innovation and entrepreneurial needs of India in the years ahead. This module is the next step in bringing artificial intelligence (AI) to Indian classrooms and is a successor to the AI base module launched in February 2020. The 'AI Step-up Module' provides a comprehensive set of 'learn it yourself' advanced modules to those who wish to expand their knowledge base after becoming familiar with the basics of the AI discipline through the AI base module. The module is designed in an attractive graphical manner that is comprehensible for all students belonging to rural and urban areas.
RAISE 2020: Raising the bar around conversations in AI
Undoubtedly the biggest AI event in recent times, RAISE2020 played a crucial role in enhancing the scope of discussion, debate and thought leadership around AI in India. NASSCOM, along with many other entities like MeitY, NeGD, Niti Aayog, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, other central ministries and state governments, put together an impressive lineup of speakers from research, industry and policy to discuss myriad aspects of AI and its impact on industry. The summit consisted of 48 Sessions of 85 hours. 320+ high quality keynote speakers and panellists from 21 countries graced the summit. 79,000+ participants from 147 countries registered for the event and 39,000+ persons participated directly from the virtual event platform and many more saw the event through live streaming at social media platform such as Facebook.
INDIAai: The National AI Portal
In June 2020, the national AI portal INDIAai was launched by Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister for Law & Justice, Electronics & IT & Communications, and other key ministry members, in a virtual event. INDIAai, a joint initiative of MeitY, NeGD and NASSCOM, is the central hub for AI in India and beyond; aiming to be the key content and information provider on AI developments, for the welfare of the ecosystem.
NASSCOM partners with Automation Anywhere on RPA skilling
Automation Anywhere, a global leader in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) signed a two-year agreement with NASSCOM FutureSkills to train more than 300,000 developers, partners and students across India to complete one million RPA courses through Automation Anywhere University (AAU), the company’s education and certification division.
Madhya Pradesh Govt collaborates with NASSCOM and Microsoft for upskilling
MP’s Department of Technical Education signed an MoU with NASSCOM and Microsoft to help polytechnic and engineering students gain better placements. The scope of the MoU involved a three-hour online certificate course on AI, following which students are expected to have a better chance at scoring competent jobs.
Microsoft and NASSCOM offer free online certificate course in AI
As part of the Microsoft AI Classroom series, an initiative launched in association with NASSCOM FutureSkills, supported by GitHub to skill up students and future developers on new technologies, school students are given free online course in artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning through online Simu-live session. This program is open to students enrolled in Indian universities and who are residents of India.
FutureSkills Prime launched by NASSCOM
As part of its ongoing efforts to foster an ecosystem that enhances India’s digital talent with the right set of skills, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) today launched FutureSkills PRIME Beta Platform. The programme will be offered as a robust online platform to encourage remote and self-paced learning. Many awareness-building modules will be free to access, allowing the maximum number of participations. Under the Programme, 4.12 lakh learners will get subsidised access to certified courses in any of the 10 identified emerging technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Internet of things, Big Data Analytics, Robotic Process Automation, Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, Cloud Computing, Social & Mobile, Cyber Security, Augmented/Virtual Reality and Blockchain.)
Indian AI Stack: NASSCOM leads industry consultation
Following the AI Standardisation Committee publishing a Discussion Paper on the Framework of an Indian AI stack for public consultation, NASSCOM organised an interactive meeting between the Committee and AI experts from the industry. The paper proposes a stack that seeks to remove the impediments to AI deployment by putting in place a comprehensive framework. The presentation was followed by an open discussion, where the members from the industry shared their view on the proposals.
