India’s first Artificial Intelligence Summit- ‘Raise 2020’- is being jointly organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the NITI Aayog. Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020’ (RAISE 2020) will be held virtually from October 5 to October 9. It will be a global meeting to exchange ideas between some of the best minds in the world on AI.

Some panels to look out for in the Healthcare sector are Innovation in Healthcare through AI (Oct 7), New Age of Connected Healthcare: Delivering last mile access (Oct 7), and Leveraging AI for Pandemic Preparedness (Oct 9). 

The panels will feature some of the most prominent names in the healthcare sector, including: 

  • Dr Randeep Guleria is a pulmonologist and the Director of AIIMS. He has been awarded the Padam Shri by Govt. of India and is one of the experts leading the country’s Covid-19 national task force.
  • Dr Devi Prasad Shetty is an Indian cardiac surgeon and the Chairman and Executive Director of Narayana Health, an organisation for providing quality, affordable healthcare to all. He has been conferred the Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan by the Govt. of India among many other national and international honours. 
  • Dr Sangita Reddy is a Global Healthcare Leader, Indian Entrepreneur and Humanitarian. She is the Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited - Asia's largest healthcare group. Dr Reddy is also the President of The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). Driving Healthcare Technology & Innovation, she is focused on setting benchmarks in futuristic health care projects enabling IOT, AI, Data Analytics, Drone Tech and Block Chain.
  • Dr Aparna Hegde is a urogynecologist, researcher, social entrepreneur, and Founder and Chairperson of the NGO Armman. Her NGO creates scalable programs using technology innovatively to impact maternal and child health. She is Associate Professor (Hon) of Urogynecology and the Head of the Division of Urogynecology at Cama Hospital, Grant Medical College, Mumbai, India’s first comprehensive Center of Excellence in the field. She is also the Founder and Director of the Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Health, New Delhi and Consultant Urogynecologist at Global Hospital, Surya Hospital and Womens Hospital, Mumbai.
  • Dr Harpreet Singh heads the Division of Informatics, Systems and Research Management at ICMR. He is a technical professional with 17 years of experience in data management and analysis. He leads ICMR’s efforts in providing quality data analysis and management for health research platforms.
