As an industry body, nasscom has always been deeply involved with evangelizing and lobbying for advancements in technology. So, obviously Artificial Intelligence has been ranking high in its list of priorities for the industry, and has been working tirelessly the past couple of years to broaden conversations around AI, help companies embrace it and provide multiple avenues to make the technology more accessible. Here are some of the key initiatives by nasscom in 2023.
Indian Generative AI Landscape report: Nasscom published a study on the Indian landscape of generative AI. The Indian Generative AI landscape includes more than 60 firms committed to giving solutions and services to its consumers across various industrial verticals as of May 2023.
More than $590 million has already been invested in this space, with 2022 being the year with the most significant inflow. This report, Generative AI Startup Landscape in India - A 2023 Perspective, reflects Nasscom's viewpoint on this rapidly growing field. The research analyzes the market makeup, financial climate, technology environment, value creation across use cases, and revenue trends/expectations indicated by India's Gen AI firms. Nasscom's advice to various ecosystem actors on what they can do to create a favorable environment that allows the unlocking of large-scale Generative AI potential and encourages market growth are also mentioned.
AI for Social Good Awards: To encourage even higher adoption of AI in socially important sectors, Capgemini and Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM) introduced AI for Social Good Awards to recognize and empower innovative and impactful AI applications for the social sector emerging India's startup ecosystem.
T-AIM, powered by NASSCOM, was established in 2020 by the Government of Telangana. The foundation of T-AIM has one vision- to position Telangana as a global hub for AI and foster social innovation.
Uber Sustainovate: In partnership with nasscom ai, Uber announced the 'Uber Sustainovate' startup challenge. Through the challenge, they are looking for innovative solutions to fast-track the adoption of sustainable mobility in India. The competition, in partnership with Startup India and nasscom ai, is designed to award startups that produce the best workable ideas to help accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility in the country.
_VOIS Innovation Challenge: Vodafone’s top strategic partner for talent, technology and transformation, _VOIS (Vodafone Intelligent Solutions), announced _VOIS Innovation Challenge, collaborating with Telengana AI Mission (T-AIM) and NASSCOM. _VOIS is a global team of over 24,000 experts across 28 countries, which was established in 2006 and has grown into a global tech leader trying to address the pressing issues of current times in the workforce domain.
The theme, “Beyond Boundaries: Innovating Workforce Horizons,” focuses on using advanced AI for reshaping work. This challenge seeks startups to create solutions for two use cases: “Speed to Competency for Customer Care Agents” and “Talent Enhancement for Gig Workforce.”
