Bharti Airtel started leveraging AI, ML and data analytics to improve customer services. To maintain competition with its telecom rival – Jio, the company planned to improve its operational efficiency and service quality with the help of latest technologies.
In February 2018, Bharti Airtel partnered with Nokia to deploy Nokia’s hybrid self-organizing networks (SON) solution. The solution uses predictive machine learning and an analytics platform which allowed the operator to take a proactive step to optimize network utilization and enhance user experience. Nokia’s solution comprises of Nokia EdenNet SON software is integrated with Bharti Airtel’s multi-vendor radio network fabric. The solution improves network performance by automatically identifying and resolving network issues and managing network capacity in real-time. The solution works on an estimate bandwidth demand and organizes the network at the backend. It monitors the participation of routers and allows Bharti Airtel to reconsider the telecom network across a certain area and re-accumulate their strategy to enhance the network performance.
The solution provided by Nokia has enabled Bharti Airtel to manage complex multi-technology networks by automatically minimizing the risk of human error. The company has addressed network performance dips and outages even before it impacts the customers. The solution has also helped the company in managing the exponential data growth in the telecom sector.
