Problem / Objective:

JEE and NEET are two of the toughest competitive exams in India. Students from rural areas often do not have access to resources to clear these exams successfully. Furthermore, most of the rural government schools also lack the necessary infrastructure and resources to prepare the student for such an exam. Some of these students are not even trained to use a computer.

Solution / Approach:

In June 2017, the Tribal Area Development Department of Government of Rajasthan, partnered with the EdTech startup Embibe to address this issue. The company developed a platform which uses machine learning and deep learning to monitor and improve students' test score constantly.

The pilot program was conducted to prepare the students of Model Public Residential School, Udaipur for JEE and NEET 2018. The company distributed tablets with their applications installed on it, to the students. All the necessary resources were made accessible to the students through the app alongside Embibe's AI-powered personalized guidance.

Impact / Implementation:

In 9 months, the students were able to prepare for the exams. The company's model helped them to gain the skill and confidence to crack the exams and be comfortable with the online examination pattern and operating the computer. 50% of the students were able to clear their exams, and five girls were able to crack the exams.
