IIT Jodhpur launched the Centre for Next Generation AI Research (AINEXT) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NVIDIA as a key technology and computing platform partner. This unique AINEXT Centre will pioneer in research to develop next generation AI systems, which will transform computers from tools to problem solving partners. The work that will be undertaken at IIT Jodhpur will enable AI systems to explain their actions and to acquire and understand and reason with common sense knowledge. The centre’s computing infrastructure will be built on the premise to scale out AI without scaling on the complexity like the NVIDIA DGX-2 Systems, the world’s most powerful AI System for the most complex AI challenges. This will also provide unique opportunity to the researchers to develop next generation AI applications by exploiting the knowledge of the researchers at IIT Jodhpur, partnering Institutes and Organizations.
The Image Analysis and Biometrics Lab launched by IIT Jodhpur is a hub of experiments led by professionals like Richa Singh and Mayank Vatsa. A few of their latest initiatives are:
IIT Jodhpur is currently offering three academic programs, namely, 4-year B.Tech, 2-year M.Tech, and PhD programs in Computer Science and Engineering. It also provides M.Tech in AI and a dual degree (M.Tech. + Ph.D.) in Computer Science and Engineering, and in AI. There is also an option of Executive M.Tech in AI for working professionals who wants to pursue M.Tech in a part-time mode.
