Mastercard’s AI-based biometric authentication software, Mastercard Identity Check uses machine vision to identify customers using biometric data to approve transactions and grant account access. Biometric data such as a customer’s thumbprint, face, or the motion of their eyes blinking might be enough to authenticate a payment with Mastercard Identity Check. It can be applied to various financial services where authentication is necessary.

MasterCard’s digital Smart Mirror enables shoppers to pay for goods without needing to queue. Shoppers can use Masterpass on the mirror or pay via dedicated Masterpass app. The interactive touch-screen OAK mirror allows shoppers to change lighting, language, view and request different sizes and colors as well as asking for specific items to be brought to the room via a ’request button’ on the mirror. The mirror can be synchronized with a store’s clothing catalogue and inventory system to offer intelligent product recommendations around the shopper’s choice. The mirror uses RFID technology embedded in clothing tags to recognize products. 

MasterCard has entered into an alliance with Goals101.ai, an AI company, to create targeted and personalized offers for bank cardholders. Customers of MasterCard is expected to benefit from increased customer engagement. The partnership will also see the launch of "For You'', a platform that will unify all partnerships and product recommendations in one place and cardholders will be able to view a unified page which will be curated as per his spending behaviour.

MasterCard acquired Brighterion, a leading software company that specializes in AI. Through this, MasterCard will increase its suite of AI capabilities that will deliver enhanced security for fraud prevention. Brighterion's unique Smart Agent technology will be added to MasterCard's suite of security products to provide greater accuracy in making fraud-related decisions.
