TGC is a platform to pitch your solutions to complex challenges that impact millions of citizens. TGC offers you a chance to present to government decision-makers and marquee impact investors. Every year, TGC focuses on a case study based on 1 governance domain in 1 state. The TGC 2024 is being organized by Samagra in partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, focusing on the theme of Artificial Intelligence in Governance.Through the course of the competition, teams will also get a chance to exclusively interact with the leaders behind legacy reforms that have transformed India.
This is the 3rd edition of TGC. We are excited to share that TGC 2024 is being supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation & Veddis Foundation. The finalist teams will get the opportunity to pitch their solutions to the Chief Minister and State Leadership of Uttar Pradesh, interact with a panel of marquee impact investors, receive mentoring from IAS officers & top industry leaders, and win cash prizes worth ₹9,00,000 & undertake a curated 2-day governance immersion visit. TGC is your chance to nurture ideas that can impact millions!
The Governance Challenge (TGC) will have 3 rounds in the competition focused on a governance case study. Teams will be provided required support through the rounds: Reference material, Buddies for feedback, Mentoring support from IAS officers & industry leaders, and so on, to come up with game-changer solutions in the context of governance that impact millions.
Campus Round:
The case study will be released right before the Campus Round kicks off. This round will involve the submission of a 3-minute executive pitch video along with a 2-page concept-note explaining your submission. Students from eligible campuses can participate. The top team from each campus will be selected for Nationals.
Nationals Round:
The Nationals Round will entail preparing a presentation on the solution and presenting it to a panel of IAS officers and industry leaders. The 10-minute presentation will be followed by Q&A by the esteemed panel. In the run-up to the Nationals, all teams will be provided with guidance from industry experts and young professionals who have worked in the governance ecosystem. The top 6 teams out of the 36 teams at the Nationals will be shortlisted to pitch their solutions to the Chief Minister and State Leadership of Uttar Pradesh at the Summit.
Summit Round:
The Summit will require the 6 finalist teams to make a 10-minute pitch to a panel led by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh along with senior bureaucrats, marquee impact investors, and industry leaders. Each team will be assigned two mentors (1 Industry Mentor and 1 government Mentor). The mentors will help teams sharpen their solutions for the final pitch. The Summit will be a full-day event organized in Uttar Pradesh. Before the Summit, the finalist teams will also get to experience a curated 2-day Governance Immersion Visit to understand governance and ground reality better.
