School of Computer Science, UPES, Dehradun, India is organizing 3nd Iteration of UPES Hackathon, UHackathon 3.0 during 5th & 6th August, 2022.

UPES, accredited with NAAC grade ‘A’ and ranked among top 100 universities in India by NIRF invites competent teams from PAN India but this time UPES Hackathon’s 3rd edition is inviting teams from SAARC Nations as well.

The first version of the event - “UHackathon 1.0” was organized in May, 2019, which attracted student participation from 10 states of the country. The hackathon was unique in its concept to have problem statements from more than 20 esteemed organizations from government and private sectors. Participants also got the opportunities to get internships with the associate organizations.  

The second version - UHackathon 2.0 was held in February ‘2020. It was a big success whose grand finale witnessed the participation of more than 50 teams from 11 states of the country. Winners received the prizes worth INR 1 lac. Three outstanding teams from the hackathon were chosen for the opportunity of participation in IEEE International Hackathon- YESIST, to be held in Malaysia in 2020. Few participants also got the opportunity of internships with the industry associates.

UHackathon 3.0 envisages a wider reach to the student community, start-ups & technology enthusiasts and better collaboration with the industry, in order to leverage the potential to find the solutions to most pressing problems of today. The broader areas of UHackathon 3.0 are Disaster Management, Environmental Sustainability, EdTech solutions, Consumer Tech, Healthcare & biomedical devices, Retail, Women Welfare, smart communication systems, agriculture & rural development, food technology, smart vehicles, robotics & drones, and AI systems. UHackathon 3.0 is an initiative towards providing a road map for young minds and techpreneurs to identify critical challenges and their solutions, which we are facing in our day-to-day life. It motivates young minds to inculcate their ideas to provide the solutions in terms of developing innovative product or its prototype. We are happy to host this event for brilliant teams from SAARC Nations as well.
