President Droupadi Murmu stated that subjects such as AI and Data Science, along with Computer Science Electronics and Communication, “have the potential to contribute significantly to the making of a new India”. She was addressing the gathering while inaugurating the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)- Dharwad in Karnataka. 

The President said that the world is changing at a rapid pace. India is also experiencing a digital revolution through the Digital India Mission. During the speech, she encouraged the need to promote our research and innovation even more.  

President Murmu added that today’s world belongs to the Metaverse. On the strength of AI and Augmented Reality, we can make useful changes. The world is now moving towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which has the potential to raise income levels and improve the quality of life for the world community. She also talked about the development of humanoid robots equipped with speech recognition to assist senior citizens and patients. 

 In recent years India has made significant developments in the field of AI. AI and other emerging technologies have contributed to the growth of India’s space research, agriculture, education, healthcare, governance and many more.
