Since the launch of ChatGPT last November, the world has been gushing over the chatbot, which has gained massive popularity in the tech industry. People are exploring the possibilities of AI chatbots in different sectors, from OpenAI’s ChatGPT to Microsoft’s new Bing and Google’s Bard. Worldwide, people are using chatbots creatively as well as for research purposes.

Though AI chatbots provide advanced data and can do anything beyond their limitations, a significant thing they can’t do is ask questions and write prompts. People who gained expertise in using these AI tools are also writing prompts, increasing the demand for prompt skills.

While people are anxious about AI replacing human jobs, the opportunities they put forward are rarely discussed area. One of the greatest perks of enhancing prompt skills will be the newly emerging career as a prompt engineer.

Anthropic, a San Fransisco-based AI start-up company, is reportedly hiring prompt engineer and librarian with a salary of USD 335,000 per year, which means approximately 2.7 crores in INR. The job description on the company’s website said, “Given that the field of prompt engineering is arguably less than two years old, this position is a bit hard to hire for! If you have existing projects that demonstrate prompt engineering on LLMs or image generation models, we’d love to see them. If you haven’t done much in the way of prompt engineering yet, you can best demonstrate your prompt engineering skills by spending some time experimenting with Claude or GPT3 and showing that you’ve managed to get complex behaviours from a series of well-crafted prompts”. The job listing also added the expected salary range for the position, which is USD 175,000 to USD 335,000 per year. It is also mentioned that people from different backgrounds also can apply for this job.
