Amazon India is developing a generative AI tool called SahAI for its business partners to help them with the backend of any particular product. The product is still in the trial stage. This new generative AI is aimed at breaking barriers and helping many new businesses enter the marketplace, said Amazon during the Thursday Sambhav summit in New Delhi.
The tool is intended to assist small businesses with content, pictures, product details, summary and other aspects of a product. Amazon Johri was also showcased at the summit, claiming to help the US-based e-commerce giant sort fruits and vegetables and better dispose of the same.
Amazon recently signed a memorandum with India Post to reach out to artisans, makers, and businesses in remotest parts of the country to bring them on board. India Post announced the opening of 1000 Niryat Kendras (export centres). According to the reports, 600 of such export centres are already functional. These export centres take the role of enabler and provider. I also act in custom clearances online and expedite the entire process.
In 2019, Amazon had extended its partnership with Indian Railways. Now, it intends to run special parcel trains on the dedicated freight corridors of railways.
The company has completed over a decade of operations in India. It started with 100 sellers during its initial days. And today, it has over 12 lakh sellers active on the platform. The numbers state that 62% of its businesses are already digitized. Amazon has achieved $8 billion cumulative export from India and claims to have generated 13 lakh direct and indirect jobs.
Amazon India has informed that Amazon Web Services (AWS) will invest $12.7 billion by 2030 and create jobs in this sector. The Hindu report remarked that there is going to be an additional $15 billion investment by Amazon India by 2030.
