The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will introduce new-age subjects such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Design Thinking and Physical Activity Trainer from the academic year of 2020-21.

The move is to encourage physical and mental stimuli which will help the students become more able participants of the future. As AI becomes more mainstream in the professional sphere of life, the subjects will encourage the new generation to be more creative and innovative; keeping pace with global developments.

"While thinking is a skill that all humans possess, the 21st century's requirement is of critical thinking and problem-solving. Design Thinking is a systematic process of thinking that opens up the horizons of creativity and enables even the most conditioned thinkers to bring about new and innovative solutions to the problems at hand," said Biswajit Saha, Director Training and Skill Education, CBSE.
