The GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT) at Rajam, Srikakulam, Andra Pradesh has inaugurated an artificial intelligence (AI) laboratory. The AI laboratory will offer the GMRIT students to gain training and certification in specialised AI and other technologies from all engineering faculties. The AI lab is also equipped with NVIDIA QUADRO RTX6000 workstations and P1000 desktops, which are considered to be high-performance computing facilities.

The institute has designed the curriculum in-line of the findings of the Jobs Landscape – 2020 of World Economic Forum (WEC) which explores the future of the job market. This initiative aims to address challenges by facilitating students in their AI journey. 

“GMRIT has taken a significant step in establishing an exclusive laboratory to introduce its students to AI learning courses. AI has its footprints and application spread in all sectors. It is a moment of pride as we developed such an innovative training-based learning approach for students and teachers,” said GM Rao, Chairman, GMR Group and GBS Raju, Business Chairman, GMR Airports who e-inaugurated during the weekend.

He further said that the initiative’s overall goal is to introduce students to the foundational skills of AI and make them creators of innovative technology. The laboratory is equipped to offer specialised training in AI and related technologies.
