Google Cloud declared to boost Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) by leveraging the capabilities of generative AI during the Born Digital Summit in Bengaluru. They demonstrated the perks of this new capability, which is expected to benefit both sellers and buyers across India.
During the summit, the Managing Director of Google Cloud India, Bikram Singh Bedi, said, “Our mission is to accelerate every organization’s ability to digitally transform themselves and help them solve complex business problems.” They have partnered with Indian conglomerates like Reliance, Tata, Adani, Apollo, Flipkart and ONDC in India.
This Duet AI-powered ONDC seller app of Google Cloud is expected to assist businesses in generating images, descriptions and many other things with few clicks to improve the visibility of their products. The unique feature of this app is that a seller can input context in one language, which will be automatically translated into English with the help of Google’s AI. As per the buyer’s requirements, it will be translated into other languages as well.
While demonstrating Google, Google showcased a case where the seller inputs in Tamil and generates a description in English in addition to relevant images. The same data was then automatically translated into Hindi or other languages of choice for the buyer intended to bridge the language barrier gap in the business. This app is expected to help non-tech-savvy sellers by creating compelling product catalogues with easy steps to improve product discoverability.
Google has also stressed that they will be watermarking the images generated by AI, and such images will not be copyrighted. The feature is expected to be released soon. On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals are already harnessing Google Cloud’s AI capabilities to enhance healthcare access in India. In collaboration, Apollo has built a Clinical Intelligence Engine (CIE) using the Vertex AI and generative AI models, which will assist doctors in taking refined actions in consultations.
