OpenAI’s ChatGPT being the star for the past few months is predicted to get a rival soon with the announcement of Google on its new partnership with Anthropic, a start-up founded by former members of OpenAI based in San Francisco, Us. Reportedly Google invested about $300M on 3rd February 2023 in Anthropic, which has developed a system called Claude having similar attributes to ChatGPT. It has caused a stir in the tech world as another tech giant, Microsoft about to go head-to-head with Google after renewing its partnership with OpenAI by investing $10 billion, according to New York Times. However, ChatGPT has already impressed millions with its knack for answering queries worldwide. 

Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, said, “We are partnering with Google Cloud to support the next phase of Anthropic. We are going to deploy our AI systems to a larger set of people. Anthropic’s Claude, developed using a technique called “Constitutional AI” will strengthen Google Cloud’s GPU and TPU clusters to train, scale and deploy its AI systems. The founders explained that by using Constitutional AI, they focus on creating a safe, reliable and effective technology. Various safety techniques were deployed to ensure they were simple to understand and operate.

ChatGPT is programmed to produce more human-like explanations with accurate information. The buzz created by ChatGPT is believed to be mainly due to the authenticity of content creation. But Claude is promised to deliver more detail-oriented content with in-depth responses to user queries by exhibiting robust ethical rules. This makes Claude a perfect rival for ChatGPT. 

By partnering with ChatGPT, Microsoft aims to expand ChatGPT's accessibility to its Bing search engine too. The tech giant believes that if the Bing integration work as expected, the use case can save hours of research, coding and more. Microsoft not only intends to demonstrate ChatGPT in Bing but also aims to make it available for Bing users to test. 

While Microsoft is going on with its rapid commercialization of the OpenAI model, Google has tried to forestall the news by announcing the rival -Bard. Bard is introduced as a competitor for ChatGPT, which uses Google’s language model- Language Model for Dialogue Application (LaMDA). The statement was released days after Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google, detailed about company’s progress in an earnings call. After getting favourable responses for their AI-powered platform, Google management stated “code red” to ChatGPT. 

At any rate, we can soon witness the race of these tech giants heading over to the future of Artificial Intelligence.
