Celebrating Gemini's successful first year in India, Google emphasized the app's role in enhancing productivity, learning, and creativity among students, developers, and other users, demonstrating its commitment to meeting their diverse needs.
Building on this momentum, Google has introduced new features in Gemini to empower users further, heralding a new era of productivity and convenience.
The Gemini app, particularly significant in India's mobile-first culture, now supports multilingual interactions. The Gemini app and Gemini Advanced, featuring Google’s most capable AI models, are available in these nine languages, facilitating information access and task completion in users' preferred languages, a step towards a more inclusive and accessible digital landscape.
New Gemini Advanced features include data analysis capabilities, file uploads, and the ability to chat in Google Messages, initially in English.
The app, available on Android and iOS, allows users to type, talk, or add images for assistance. Tasks range from planning events and creating recipes to generating social media captions and receiving practical instructions, such as changing a flat tyre.
Users can access Gemini on Android by downloading the app, opting in through Google Assistant, or using specific gestures and commands.
The app integrates many voice features from Google Assistant, like setting timers, making calls, and setting reminders, with more to come. On iOS, Gemini access is rolling out via the Google app.
Additionally, Gemini 1.5 Pro, Google’s most advanced model, is now available in Gemini Advanced with a massive 1 million token context window, the longest of any consumer chatbot.
This groundbreaking capability enables Gemini to process and understand extensive information, such as lengthy documents, emails, videos, and codebases. It marks a significant advancement in building a truly conversational, multimodal, and helpful AI assistant, instilling confidence in its performance and potential.
