IBM and the Govt. of Gujarat signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an AI Cluster within GIFT City in the presence of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat. According to a LinkedIn post by the GIFT City, this partnership will leverage IBM's advanced AI platform, watsonx, to foster innovation and drive digital transformation across the financial sector. The collaboration includes providing financial institutions with access to an AI Sandbox for developing and testing AI solutions, assistance with proof of concept, and specialized AI literacy programs.

Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat, remarked that this MoU with IBM will aid Gujarat in leading the country in efforts to adopt AI and drive digital transformation.

This partnership will provide financial institutions within GIFT City access to a comprehensive suite of AI resources, including AI sandbox, proof of concept assistance, AI literacy programs, and digital assistant solutions.

The AI sandbox is a dedicated environment for experimenting with and customizing large-language AI models to address specific financial industry needs. Concept assistance supports financial institutions in developing and testing AI-powered solutions tailored to their unique requirements.

Literacy programs equip professionals with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an AI-driven financial landscape. Assistant solutions assist in developing and deploying AI-powered digital assistants that can streamline operations and enhance customer experiences.

Sandip Patel, managing director of IBM India & South Asia, commented that this collaboration is a significant step in continued association with the government of Gujarat to accelerate the digital transformation of the state.
