According to Times of India, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan proclaimed the Congress government will set up a dedicated Artificial Intelligence City on 50-100 acres to position Hyderabad as India’s ‘AI capital’. Additionally, she said that 10-12 pharma clusters will be established in 1,000-3,000 acres far away from human habitations. The governor made these announcements in her address to the joint Legislative Assembly and Council session on the first day of the Budget session.

Highlighting the industry and service sectors in the speech, the governor said, “My government intends to bring a completely new paradigm to support these two vital sectors. We will introduce a new industrial policy by considering best global practices. Telangana will strive to become a role model state, where new and existing investors will not face hurdles, not only at the time of entry but also during their operations and future expansion.”

Moreover, the governor said, the rebuilding process extends to institutions that have suffered in the last decade. “We pledge to restore the core values of the legislature and executive, ensuring transparency, accessibility and adherence to constitutional principles. All the institutions critical to the growth and development of the state, like TSPSC, THRC, State Information Commission, universities, etc., will be given due importance to function responsibly,” she added. The governor also declared that the government has devised a new MSME policy, which will help recruit skilled workforce.
