Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM will be speaking at RAISE 2020, scheduled to take place between October 5th and 9th, 2020.
Krishna, who was announced as CEO of the IT major in April 2020, is responsible for building and expanding new markets for IBM in areas of AI, cloud, quantum computing and blockchain; and developing new products and solutions based on these technologies.
Prior to becoming CEO, Krishna was Senior Vice President of Cloud and Cognitive Software, where he pioneered the company’s hybrid cloud business, transformed IBM’s entire software and services portfolio and offerings for cloud, and grew the business. He also headed IBM Research, where he drove innovation in core and emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, blockchain, cloud platform services, data-driven solutions, and nanotechnology. In 2016, Wired magazine selected Arvind as “one of 25 geniuses who are creating the future of business” for his foundational work on blockchain.
IBM’s successful acquisition of open source software products company RedHat for $34bn was also led by Krishna, among other several transformations for business.
Krishna has an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK) and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
He will be speaking at RAISE 2020, where global participants and key decision makers in AI will converge to discuss how AI can be used for transforming society, inclusive development and citizen empowerment.
