IIT Roorkee and Deloitte have teamed up to offer immersive artificial intelligence and machine learning programs.

This collaboration intends to transform the industry-academic interaction to close the talent gap and develop future leaders with advanced AI skills. Deloitte will provide IIT Roorkee students fellowships and work-study opportunities to work on AI and Advanced Analytics as part of this relationship. This collaboration will be critical in delivering technical expertise and know-how to students on cutting-edge tools and developing a roadmap for AI's future.

The collaboration between IIT Roorkee and Deloitte is in line with the Government of India's Digital India plan, which intends to improve AI-enabled technology in every sector, including government, banking, education, and health. The partnership will focus on a targeted set of AI-related efforts, including developing and delivering AI and machine learning certification courses for Deloitte workers. In addition, with online learning courses, this partnership will help foster AI fluency for prospective students and the Indian population, enabling citizens and talent pools to be digitally empowered.

Prof. Ajit K. Chaturvedi, Director of IIT Roorkee, emphasized the relationship with Deloitte by stating, "IIT Roorkee and Deloitte will create new prospects for both of us. This alliance has the potential to enhance India's AI strategy."

"IIT Roorkee is at the forefront of providing technical assistance to national and international AI and ML-related projects. Other goals include supporting the Make-in-India and Atma-Nirbhar Bharat initiatives of the Indian government by seeding entrepreneurship and startups related to artificial intelligence and creating resource centres for information and knowledge sharing", according to Prof. Manish Shrikhande, Dean of the SRIC at IIT Roorkee.
