The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has started an advanced certification course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning. The institute will provide the course along with Cloudxlab.com, a US-based ed-tech company.

The current economic crisis, exaggerated by the COIVD-19 pandemic, underscores the significance of specialised technical skills to tackle the global slowdown. As a solution to this, IIT Roorkee and Cloudxlab.com have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a series of such courses that are instructor-led as well as self-paced executive online courses.

 “COVID-19 has triggered a nationwide lockdown. This is the best time for the youth as well as others to upskill themselves. This initiative will be attractive to users who aim to excel in the technical field. The partnership with CloudxLab.com will amplify our reach to offer the latest knowledge in tune with the needs of the industry,” said Prof Ajit K. Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee.

The platform Cloudxlab.com, started by IIT-Roorkee alumni, will provide a host of courses such as AI, Machine Learning, Data Science and many more, along with the Deep Learning course. The course curriculum is designed by the faculty of IIT Roorkee along with other leading experts from the industry. 

The application form for the courses is already available on Cloudxlab.com which needs to be submitted along with an eligibility quiz. To qualify for the courses, an applicant needs to possess a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, technology or mathematics as well as prior experience in any programming language to apply for the course. 

The course will commence from 31 May for selected applicants and will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays between 8 pm and 11 pm, for 12-15 hours a week. These classes will be streamed online through live video along with 24X7 support to solve academic queries of the learners. Upon completion of the course, learnings will receive a completion certification from IIT Roorkee.
