Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said in a recent statement that India is making remarkable strides in artificial intelligence (AI), leveraging its potential for public good and national development. Emphasizing the country’s commitment to harnessing AI for societal progress, the Prime Minister urged global investors to recognize India's rapidly growing AI ecosystem and its young, dynamic talent pool.

Expressing his enthusiasm after a meeting with Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, PM Modi responded to Pichai’s post on social media platform X, stating:

“Glad to have met you @sundarpichai. India is making remarkable strides in AI, leveraging it for the public good. We urge the world to come and invest in our nation and bet on our Yuva Shakti!”

AI as a Catalyst for Public Good

India’s AI advancements are not just confined to the private sector but are actively driving transformative change in governance, healthcare, education, and agriculture. Government initiatives such as the National AI Strategy and the IndiaAI program have laid a strong foundation for AI-driven solutions that address critical societal challenges. From AI-powered healthcare diagnostics to smart governance systems, India is integrating AI to enhance efficiency and inclusivity across multiple domains.

In addition, AI-driven educational platforms are revolutionizing learning methodologies, making quality education more accessible to remote and underserved communities. AI applications in agriculture are helping farmers optimize yields, predict weather patterns, and improve resource management through precision farming techniques.

India’s AI Workforce: A Global Talent Hub

With one of the world’s largest pools of AI and technology professionals, India’s young and skilled workforce—Yuva Shakti—is at the forefront of AI-driven innovation. The country’s robust engineering and research institutions and thriving startup ecosystem produce cutting-edge AI solutions that have gained global recognition.

India also strengthens AI research and development through collaborations between academia, industry, and government agencies. AI Centers of Excellence (CoEs) are being established nationwide to drive innovation, foster entrepreneurship, and bridge the gap between research and real-world applications.

Conclusion

The Prime Minister’s call to invest in India highlights the country’s vision of becoming a global AI powerhouse. With strong leadership, a thriving innovation landscape, and an ambitious young workforce, India is poised to redefine AI’s role in shaping a more efficient, inclusive, and technologically advanced future.
