India-UAE Memorandum of Understanding to Promote Investment and Cooperation in Industry and Advanced Technologies.
On Thursday in Abu Dhabi, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed, reaffirming the commitment to cooperation efforts in sectors such as supply chain resilience, sustainable energy technologies, healthcare, space, Industry 4.0, and industrial standards.
The primary objective of this historic agreement is to facilitate industrial investments, the transfer of technology, and the implementation of key innovations across diverse industries. The collaboration is intended to yield mutual benefits as both countries seek industrial and technological advancements simultaneously.
Al Jaber emphasized, "Following the vision of the UAE's leadership, we are committed to strengthening bilateral relations to promote economic and sustainable development. Given the strong economic, technological, and social ties between the UAE and India, we are delighted to sign this MoU to further develop the industrial sector by advanced technology and sustainability standards."
The memorandum of understanding encompasses a broad range of cooperation, including advanced industries, energy transition solutions, healthcare, and space. In addition, it seeks to develop technological innovations that align with sustainability and climate neutrality objectives.
Shri Goyal stated, "This MOU paves the way for the expansion of cooperation efforts and the establishment of an institutional framework in emerging technologies." It would aid in promoting and expanding bilateral cooperation in vital areas such as space, healthcare, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence.
The seven focuses of the agreement are supply chain resilience, renewable energy and energy efficiency, health and life sciences, space systems, artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0, advanced technologies, standardization and metrology.
To strengthen supply chain resilience, the UAE and India will identify opportunities for raw material supply and share best practices in industrial enablement and incentive programs.
The two nations will collaborate to advance energy storage technologies, Smart Grid deployment, and renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development in the energy sector. The healthcare and life sciences will collaborate on developing pharmaceuticals, the application of biotechnology, and research and development in these areas.
The MoU also emphasizes the intention to strengthen space industries through commercial development, the launch of small satellites, space exploration, and the licensing of space-related materials. Both countries will work together in artificial intelligence to deploy AI technologies in various industries, including space, energy, healthcare, and supply chains. They will endeavour to advance capabilities in machine learning and data analytics. Moreover, the agreement emphasizes the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies, real-time data processing, autonomous robotics, and additive manufacturing in key industries.
Standardization, metrology, conformance assessment, accreditation, and Halal certification will also be areas of cooperation, with the aim of harmonizing standards and mutual recognition of conformity assessment outcomes. Under this MOU, industrial and academic collaborations, collaborative research and development initiatives, and the exchange of best science and technology policy practices will be encouraged, further solidifying the partnership's comprehensive nature.
This strategic MOU is anticipated to pave the way for significant advancements in both countries, promoting sustainable growth, competitiveness, and efficiency across multiple industries and cultivating innovation and technological superiority.
