The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under IIRS (Indian Institute of Remote Sensing) will hold a free five-day online course from August 19 to 23 to equip students with essential skills in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The course is part of the IIRS outreach program, which aims to drive innovation within the space sector and beyond. 

The course introduces AI, ML, deep learning, data processing techniques, and case examples in geospatial data processing. It is designed for Professionals willing to get acquainted with AI, ML and DL and use the technology geospatial applications, students & researchers of civil engineering, computer science, Data Analytics, geoinformatics, Geomatics, etc. 

The course contents include:

• An introduction to AI/ML and DL; Methods in Machine LearningSupervised, Unsupervised, and Reinforcement.
• Deep Learning concepts through CNN, RNN, R-CNN, Faster RCNN, SSD, YOLO, etc., and their applications spaceborne Lidar Systems.
• Machine learning through Google Earth engine.
• Python for Machine/Deep Learning Models.

Course study materials, such as lecture slides, video recordings of lectures, open-source software, and demonstration handouts, will be available through IIRS-ISRO's e-class platform. Video lectures will also be uploaded to e-class. 

Participants can register for this ISRO-IIRS course and check their application status through an online link. For individual registrations, approval is automatic, and participants will receive login credentials for ISRO LMS. Participants can register through nodal centres as well, with approval from the coordinator of the nodal centre. Participants should contact their respective nodal centre coordinator if the application is pending approval.

Upon completing the program with a minimum attendance of 70%, students will receive a 'Course Participation Certificate'.
