According to reports, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd., has declared that the Jio platforms are planning to use the power of AI and make it accessible to the public. Ambani stressed the need for India’s AI innovation leadership to remain competitive in the fast-paced global landscape. 

He mentioned Jio’s plan to build AI systems similar to ChatGPT, intending to provide accessible AI to the citizens of India by upholding their commitment to deliver on this promise. Ambani said, “Seven years ago, Jio promised broadband connectivity to everyone, everywhere. We have delivered. Today, Jio promises AI to everyone, everywhere. And we shall deliver.”

  • He acknowledged the evolving potential of AI and shared his view of bringing AI capabilities to every Indian business and government organisation. He said that Jio platforms work on developing AI systems that are personalised for India to make the dream come true. “A global AI revolution is reshaping the world around us, and sooner than we think, intelligent applications will redefine and revolutionise industries, economies, and even our daily lives. He added that India must harness AI to stay globally competitive for innovation, growth, and national prosperity,” he added.
  • To stay updated with all the latest AI developments, the Reliance Industries Group is expanding their team and abilities by concentrating on advanced technologies like generative AI.
  • He also stated that our country has the potential to be a significant player in the global AI revolution because of its large scale, humungous data and skilled workforce. Besides, he mentioned the need for a robust digital infrastructure to manage the enormous computational demands of AI. “India has the scale. India has the data. India has the talent. But we also need digital infrastructure in India that can handle AI’s immense computational demands,” he added.
  • Reliance Industries is also investing in AI-ready computing power that targets to create 2000 MW of capacity for AI applications. This investment includes cloud and edge computing with its commitment to sustainability.
  • Ambani’s declaration emphasises the transformative impact of AI and Jio Platform’s dedication to building AI that can be accessed by all Indians, which leads to placing India as a global hub for AI innovation.
