Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has announced a naming contest on the MyGov platform to find a suitable name for the India Data Management Office (IDMO) envisioned in the National Program on AI.

The proposed office aims to improve access, quality and use of public sector data to catalyze data-driven governance, decision-making and create an ecosystem for data-based innovation and research.

MeitY is looking for a creative name that is unique, memorable and reflects the office’s objective and goals.

The primary objective of the IDMO includes designing data standards, data quality metrics, and associated tools and frameworks. This will enable an ecosystem of data-driven governance, research, and innovation.

The IDMO will also build and augment the capacity of data functionaries within government entities working on data consolidation, management and sharing activities through sensitization and training.

The entries received through the contest will have the proposed name and a brief explanation of why contestants think it is a good fit for the data management office. New submissions are accepted till 28th February 2023, 23:45 PM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs).
