National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched AI based virtual assistant, PAi to improve digital financial inclusion in India. The chatbot will work round the clock assisting users with accurate information on NPCI products like FASTag, RuPay, UPI, AePS. 

Users can submit questions in English or Hindi, either through a text or voice message on the portals of NPCI, RuPay, and UPI Chalega. The questions will be answered through verified automated responses on all NPCI's products. The chatbot could be accessible to global RuPay card holders as well.

Developed by Bengaluru based startup CoRover, PAi is intended to help increase the adoption of digital payments among Indian citizens. CoRover’s AI/ML powered NLP chatbot technology has been accessed by 20 Crore+ consumers. To, PAi will soon be available in several regional languages of India.

The NPCI was incorporated in 2008 as an umbrella organisation for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India. NPCI has created a robust payment and settlement infrastructure in the country.
