Artificial Intelligence has impacted the education sector in India to the extent that AI has been adopted as a field of study in most of the government schools in various states of India. Many colleges have implemented AI/ML courses for graduates in India. Now Raipur is all set to offer classes in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for developing a career for the children.

According to a press statement, PT. RD Tiwari Government English School has become the 10th government school in India to have a robotics laboratory under the project ‘Jigyasa’. In this lab, around 500 students from various classes can learn about the development of models and electronic devices.

Along with Raipur, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat have also been included in this project, ‘Jigyasa’. The lab will enable the students to learn about making robots, technical models, electronic devices and others. The 4th and 5th class students will be taught about the models without electronic devices, while the students of 6th to 10th will be trained to make those electronic models. They will also be taught about programming through computers in the robotics lab.

By giving the students exposure to developing models, programmes and robots, they will be able to enhance their creative skills. The main aim of this object is to increase the interest among students towards key subjects like mathematics and science”, said Anuj Kumar Dwivedi, the headmaster of Pt RD Tiwari Government English School. “All the equipment of the laboratory came from Sweden”, he added.

The headmaster further said that a mentor had been appointed to teach students about programming and the making of the robots. He believes that the laboratory will help the students to attain a better career in future. Saurabh Verma, the mentor of the laboratory, mentioned that “the students of primary level will learn designing through an interactive session. Particularly the students will be trained about load balancing as well as the concepts of sciences”. He further said that, in the robotics lab, the students would be trained to develop models that can solve the problems linked to common people, like the development of traffic signals and the programme used for their functioning.
