Milind Tambe is the Director of "AI for Good" at Google Research India. He is also a distinguished academician, a Gordon McKay Professor of Computer Science and the Director of Center for Research in Computation and Society at Harvard University. He is a fellow of the Association for Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, and the Association for Computing Machinery. 

Prof Tambe believes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and multi-agent systems should be advanced for real-world application directed towards social good. His research has explored AI application in conservation, public health and safety, social work, etc. He has contributed to several foundational award-winning academic papers in AI in areas of computational game theory, machine learning, automated planning, intelligent agents, and multi-agent interactions. 

His work has been responsible for use of the green security games framework to assist wildlife conservation around the world. His AI innovations have been helping wildlife conservationists across the world to save endangered wildlife. He also pioneered the utilisation of social networks and machine learning for improving public health outcomes.

Prior to his role at Harvard and concurrently at Google, Prof Tambe was the Helen N. and Emmett H. Jones Professor in Engineering and a Professor of Computer Science and Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. 

He is the recipient of numerous awards such as the IJCAI John McCarthy Award, ACM SIGART Autonomous Agents Research Award, the Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation Homeland Security award amongst others. He studied at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India and Carnegie Mellon University, the United State of America. 

Prof Tambe is all set to speak on education and awareness for responsible AI on the second day of the RAISE 2020 event.
