The Flight Safety Service, under Russia's Ministry of Defense, and JSC RT–Techpriemka, a subsidiary of the state-owned Rostec Corporation, have announced a project to introduce AI and ML in the production and operation of military aircrafts. Besides ensuring flight safety, this AI integration could lead to a new phase of air warfare.

Through the use of predictive analytics, the system could warn of possible future causes of failure or malfunction of equipment. This can be used to take advance corrective action in an adverse future event. With an accuracy of up to 90%, the system can be used to plan the long-term product quality, throughout phases such as manufacturing, operations, and repair.

Russia’s MiG Corporation has already announced that its multirole MiG-35 fighter jet will be equipped with artificial intelligence elements to assist the pilot in decision-making.
