A famous optical and digital solutions company, STL, has launched their RoboEdge AI Robotics Education Programme to empower students in rural Maharashtra with advanced technology skills. This initiative is a partnership between Robotex India and a non-profit organisation dedicated to bridging the digital gap, as per the press release.

During a ceremony, STL and Robotex India inaugurated the programme with the Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Education, Nanda Gaikwad, as the chief guest and Ganesh Dandage, the Controlling Officer of Education at Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, as the guest of honour. Moreover, the press release emphasised that the RoboEdge Programme builds upon the success of the Digital Equaliser and Improved Learning (DEIL) Eductech initiative by STL, which now benefits 300 government schools in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Nandurbar and Silvassa.

The director of Robotex, Payal Rajpal, stated, “The best part of STL RoboEdge Programme is that we are making it a part of the curriculum, not a co-curricular activity. This programme has been designed following the directive of NEP 2020, ensuring students develop skills in digital literacy, cybersecurity, coding, AI and IoT, robotics, data science and design thinking”.

The RoboEdge programme aims to provide top-notch education in cutting-edge technologies, from digital literacy and coding and progressing to advanced disciplines such as AI and robotics. Moreover, the programme intends to integrate technologies into the core of the school curriculum by laying a foundational framework that helps underserved students stay at the forefront of technology and leads them to a path towards professional success.

Anjali Byce, STL’s group chief human resource officer, commented, “We believe in the power of technology, and we want to empower the next generation with problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking. Our STEM, AI, and Robotics programs drive this change in government schools. We hope to give them a competitive edge for a dynamic and successful career.” About STL – Sterlite Technologies Ltd.”
