The government of Telangana presented the remarkable "State of Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem in Telangana," which details the state's contributions to AI research and the 1,774 AI-related publications between 2011 and 2022.

Telangana was highlighted for its prominence in robotics and computer vision, which accounted for 61% of the total patent filings in the field of artificial intelligence in 2021-22.

SCImago and the Computer Science Ranking, or CS rankings, have recognized the work done by institutions in Telangana. According to Stanford's AI Index Report, this trend is mirrored internationally. The SCImago institutions ranking data showed that universities in India generated 89% of the country's research.

Six universities in Telangana were included among the world's top 1,000 for computer science research publications in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2022. IIIT-Hyderabad came in at #508, while IIT-Hyderabad landed at #552. JNTU-Hyderabad (773), Osmania University (761), and NIT-Warangal (638) were the other universities represented.

There were 1,774 articles in AI between 2011 and 2022, as ranked by CS. In contrast to IIIT-H's emphasis on computer vision and NLP research, IIT-H focuses on machine learning and data mining as its primary areas of expertise. According to the survey, Telangana is home to 35% of India's computer vision publications and 73% of India's robotics articles.

Investments in Hyderabad's research centres from tech giants, including Microsoft, Google, NVIDIA, Intel, Kore.ai, MassMutual, Hexagon, and Experian, complement Telangana's robust university R&D.

The Telangana AI Mission, through its Revv Up initiative, is assisting 142 start-ups by giving them access to the market, cash, mentorship, and cutting-edge AI computer infrastructure. This support began in August 2021 with just 42 start-ups.

To foster the development of promising new businesses, the government of Telangana funded T-Hub's expansion into its second phase. With 5,82,689 square feet of construction, the building can house more than 2,000 new businesses.
