Kalli Purie, Vice-Chairperson of India Today, launched Aaj Tak's first AI anchor Sana during the 20th edition of India Today Conclave, which kicked off on Friday. Purie described Sana, "She is bright, gorgeous, ageless, tireless, speaks multiple languages and is completely under my control." The first AI anchor will be updating us with the daily news several times a day in multiple languages from this week onwards.

She further explained that Sana would present each relevant topic daily and do a show with a question and answer session for the audience to enhance the interaction. "Sana does not take away from the brilliance of real-life anchors, who will be mentoring her. Sana will have a human surrogate editor and hopefully company soon", said Purie while talking about the constant innovations.

Purie also added that this collaboration is expected to unbox creative magic, and this is never a competition between humans and AI. “The future is fascinating and frightening, and it is here,” she said. While talking about the constant attacks towards media concerning the bias, Kalli Purie said about the pressure other entities have on media. However, she pinpointed India Today has never compromised in the storytelling, “Our credibility is important to us”, she added.

Other eminent people like Brad Smith, the Vice-Chairperson and President of Microsoft, also shared their thoughts on AI, “AI could become as big as the internet”, Smith said. He predicted that we would soon witness the impact and use of Generative AI in government services and enterprises in India, which enables new ways for the citizens to access information. He further discussed the potentials and pitfalls of Generative AI with India Today and the Director of the Aaj Tak news channel Rahul Kanwal.
