According to Economic Times, the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Indian consulting and Information Technology firms to leverage advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence, machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) for the development of smart court system.

As per the officials, the decision was made to simplify the consumers’ complaint filing process. The use of AI and machine learning will assist in case filtering, complaint filing and prioritisation, notification to complainants or officials and case tracking, the officials added. They tend to address the issues in the real estate sector through the smart court.

Rajiv Kumar, the chairman of UP RERA, mentioned that “we aim to utilise new technologies such as AI, ML and natural language processing to ensure that RERA operates as a smart court. We want the authority to efficiently process complaints fairly, explainable and speedily. With Artificial Intelligence, the authority will work efficiently and seamlessly, even for complex complaints or other tasks. It will assist in analysing big data, quick machine learning, neural networks, pattern recognition, self-learning, predictive analysis, data science and other areas.”

RERA claimed that the effect of the pandemic had made homebuyers trust e-courts and file complaints digitally, as it has become the norm for almost these three years. Further details regarding the qualifications, submission requirements, objectives, scope of work and evaluation criteria for the project are made public through the RERA website. The last date for expressions of interest is 26th May 2023, by 15:00 hours.

“Consultants may submit their proposals using the online form provided on the RERA web portal. Once companies submit their applications, RERA will follow the rules, request presentations, and select the one that fulfils the set norms,” an official said.

During the pandemic virtual courts were organised for the flexibility of complainants and made fully digital. Using the latest technologies, RERA intends to enhance its performance seamlessly by resolving the issues immediately to serve its consumers effectively.
