Wipro Limited has partnered with the Centre for Brain Research (CBR), an independent, non-profit research institution based at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). This collaboration aims to enhance precision health and well-being on a large scale, leveraging artificial intelligence to improve healthcare outcomes and address health challenges at the population level.
This collaboration will prioritize leveraging the capabilities of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and big data analytics to create innovative tools that offer accurate assistance in preventing and managing chronic health conditions.
Wipro's R&D team, a division of Lab45, will create an AI called a personal care engine. This AI will consider a person's health history, desired health condition, and behavioural responses. Its purpose is to enhance an individual's health over time by promoting healthy ageing, encouraging positive lifestyle changes, and improving psychosocial well-being.
The personal care engine aims to mitigate and control the risk of cardiovascular disease and associated neurodegenerative disorders. It employs artificial intelligence to tailor user interaction, enhancing their long-term health and overall well-being.
Wipro will conduct a digital app-based trial to test the engine in partnership with CBR at IISc. This trial will produce crucial evidence regarding the engine's efficacy in circumstances highly pertinent to long-term health outcomes.
Combining Wipro's technological capabilities and CBR's cutting-edge brain science research will open up new opportunities for enhancing patient care and improving cognitive and overall health. Both schools' collaborative research and development capabilities will be utilized to create systems that can achieve improved health outcomes on a large scale.
In the official press release, Subha Tatavarti, the Chief Technology Officer of Wipro Limited, expressed the company's dedication to revolutionizing healthcare through technical advancements. Wipro is pleased to collaborate with the CBR and IISc on this endeavour. Utilizing our personal care engine allows for a diverse range of applications and advantages in health management. It can reduce lifestyle-related disorders and improve cognitive and psychosocial performance.
Likewise, Dr Ajay Chander, the Head of Research and Development at Wipro Limited, stated that their partnership with CBR will lead the way in developing solutions that combine computing and cognitive sciences. These solutions will provide personalized care support for chronic health issues globally. We prioritize cardiovascular diseases due to their significant correlation with long-term cognitive impairments and the possibility of extensive health and wellness advantages at reduced expenses.
Furthermore, Professor K.V.S. Hari, Director of the Centre for Brain Research, highlights the significance of this cooperation by stating that collaborating with Wipro enables them to enhance their scientific knowledge through extensive digital applications. This collaboration will expedite the transition from scientific research to practical cognitive and general well-being solutions.
