UNESCO in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), IndiaAI Mission, and Ikigai Law as the implementing partner, will be hosting a Stakeholder Consultation on AI Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) in India, at T-Works, Hyderabad, on Tuesday, 8th April 2025.

The RAM exercise seeks to craft an India-specific AI policy report that identifies strengths and opportunities for growth within India’s thriving AI ecosystem, while providing actionable recommendations for ethical and responsible AI adoption. As part of this initiative, five stakeholder consultations are being held nationwide to foster dialogue, deepen understanding, and build a shared vision for ethical AI deployment. Each consultation includes key addresses by senior officials from MeitY and UNESCO, it also presents highlights from the Safe and Trusted pillar of the IndiaAI mission, and breakout sessions, allowing participants to share insights, engage collaboratively, and help shape the report's findings and recommendations.
Building on the success of the first stakeholder consultation held in New Delhi in November 2024, and Bangalore in January 2025, the third consultation in Hyderabad is being organized continuingcontining ues this crucial dialogue by delving deeper into actionable strategies. By focusing on ethical AI deployment across governance, workforce readiness, infrastructure, and sectoral use cases, this consultation seeks to elicit inputs from key stakeholders on the gaps and opportunities to ensure the development of an inclusive and responsible AI ecosystem.
As India accelerates its journey towards becoming a global AI powerhouse, ethical considerations must remain at the core of this growth. The Hyderabad consultation is a significant step in shaping an inclusive and responsible AI ecosystem, ensuring that AI's transformative potential is harnessed for societal good. By fostering collaboration among policymakers, industry leaders, academia, and civil society, these discussions aim to empower innovators, democratize AI benefits, and pave the way for a safer and more equitable AI future.
