2021 has been a phenomenal year for INDIAai. As we marched ahead in our pursuit of becoming the most credible source of AI buzz in India and the world, we also produced some original knowledge assets to help our readers get a clearer perspective on artificial intelligence and its trajectory. Here are our top publications from 2021:

  • 21 women in '21: This compendium seeks to create interest among women for the field of artificial intelligence by publicising success stories of 21 women in AI and learn from them. Launched in March 2021 on the occasion of Women's Day, it glorifies the success of women in AI to instil confidence and assurance among women to take bold steps into AI without hesitation.
  • 75@75 – India's AI Journey: To recognise the technological innovations and milestones of India, MeitY, NeGD and NASSCOM have joined hands to bring to forefront the most exciting use cases of AI across all sectors spanning healthcare, agriculture, education, governance and financial services and create a compendium for the readers. To honour 75 years of independence, this compendium features 75 use cases that have successfully impacted people and governance across the nation. For the ease of readers, the use cases have been categorised under four heads: government, start-ups, academia and enterprises to fathom the progress of usage driven by such technologies. This compendium was launched by the MoS for Electronics and IT Sh. Rajeev Chandrasekhar during MeitY's celebration of 'Azadi ka Digital Mahotsav' in December.
  • Global Standards on Artificial Intelligence: The report on AI Standards is a comprehensive analysis on standards and developments across the globe. It seeks to provide a bird's eye view of policy adoption by some of the prominent economies in the world in the space of AI. The report analyses the developments in these countries on the five broad parameters, which are Definition of AI, Ethics and Human Rights, Intellectual Property, Privacy and Consent and Transparency. The countries included in this study are India, USA, China, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Russia, Denmark, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Norway, Netherlands, UAE, along with Hong Kong and the European Union. The report has a maturity index by which progress made by each country is evaluated in the particular parameter.
  • AI Patents – Driving Emergence of India as an AI Innovation Hub: Patents are considered as one of the primary ways of measuring innovation and efforts must be channelised to encourage and empower AI innovators in the country. To understand the AI patent landscape in India, a detailed research and analysis was carried out by NASSCOM and INDIAai. The report also highlights some of the successful AI patents in India that have been applied to the industries. This unique report was launched during the 'AI Patent Power Hour' session by INDIAai in June.
  • One Year of INDIAai: On the eve of first year anniversary of the launch of the INDIAai portal, the team unveiled the 'One Year of INDIAai' booklet, which consists of the major highlights from the first year. The National AI Portal was launched as the central hub for everything AI in India and beyond on May 30, 2020, by Hon’ble Minister of Electronics and IT Sh. Ravi Shankar Prasad. As of April 30, 2021, INDIAai had published more than 428 news stories and 574 articles, which offer information and insights into the latest developments in AI research and deployment across the country.
