NASSCOM worked with a range of industry leaders and government bodies to make AI courses available for a range of career professionals and students alike. Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM)

The state government of Telangana launched Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM) in partnership with NASSCOM as a part of its 2020 Year of AI initiative, with the vision to establish Telangana as a global hub for AI and leverage it for societal good. The first Governing Council meeting was convened on 2nd July, 2020 with key focus areas of agriculture and healthcare.


Niti Aayog’s AIM launches AI module with NASSCOM

Niti Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and NASSCOM launched an artificial intelligence-based module for school students to drive innovation. The 'AI Step-up Module' provides a comprehensive set of 'learn it yourself' advanced modules to those who wish to expand their knowledge base after becoming familiar with the basics of the AI discipline through the AI base module.


Microsoft and NASSCOM declare Innovate for Accessible India winners

Nasscom Foundation and Microsoft India on Wednesday announced 11 winners -- chosen from early stage start-ups and established organisations -- for creating innovative tech solutions to address problems faced by persons with disabilities. The winners were chosen from over 3,000 innovative solutions in the areas of education, skills and livelihood, mobility, health and e-governance, including two winners for a special AI for Good Awards. The program is in partnership with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, DST and the Education and Research Network (ERNET).


Policy Advocacy on Indian AI Stack

Following the AI Standardisation Committee publishing a Discussion Paper on the Framework of an Indian AI stack for public consultation, NASSCOM organised an interactive meeting between the Committee and AI experts from the industry. The paper proposes a stack that seeks to remove the impediments to AI deployment by putting in place a comprehensive framework. The presentation was followed by an open discussion, where the members from the industry shared their view on the proposals.


Events

NASSCOM played a critical role in conceptualising and conducting AI–centric events like Xperience AI and RAISE 2020. Xperience AI was a four-day summit aimed at bringing together nearly 5,000 global leaders, industry practitioners, research organisations and entrepreneurs to deliberate on the critical role of AI in the revival of businesses. RAISE 2020 was the landmark event for AI, spearheaded by the government of India through its key technology-driven organisations like MeitY and NeGD. The event witnessed 39,000 + participants, with 48 sessions and 300+ keynote speakers.


Unlocking Value From Data and AI: Report with McKinsey India

In August 2020, NASSCOM and McKinsey India launched the report ‘Unlocking Value from Data and AI’, which focused on the myriad opportunities AI has made possible in areas like agriculture, healthcare and governance, and how the government has plenty of use cases where AI can be utilised.


Research on AI in BFSI, Retail, Healthcare and More

NASSCOM’s Research wing produced a series of reports on the potential benefits and future roadmap of AI in various sectors like healthcare, retail, Indian BFSI, enterprise and the impact on the Indian economy. You can read all about these reports on NASSCOM Community


Hexagon partners with NASSCOM to launch India’s first community centre

India's first-ever Artificial Intelligence (AI) Communication Centre was launched in Hyderabad by the IT and EC secretary, Jayesh Ranjan. The centre, known as The HexArt Institute, is sponsored by the Hexagon Capability Center India (HCCI), the Indian subsidiary of the technology major Hexagon AB as their contribution to societal responsibility initiative. The institute has the state-of-the-art infrastructure, IT hardware and software worth Rs 64 lakh that will complement thoroughly designed fundamental and advanced-level curriculums that are suitable for students starting from class 12 up to engineering graduates of advanced levels. The centre aims to democratise AI knowledge and skill amongst the masses by providing free training on AI to the community.
